The national conference of the school eco-clubs was organized on 15th-16th April 2011 in Razgrad by Za Zemiata Environmental Association and the National school eco-parliament as part of the SPARE project .

The participants in the conference - over 70 students and teachers enjoyed very much the intensive and interesting program. The most interesting parts of it were organized by the wonderful hosts from "Vassil Levski" school with principal Diana Parvanova.

The national conference was opened by the mayor of Razgrad Dencho Boyadjiev in the hall of the Razgrad municipality. Greeting speach was also held by Petya Dimitrova - the director of the Regional Inspectorate of education in Razgrad.

Representatives from 23 school clubs from the entire country presented their activities in the educational and energy field, exchanged experience and got a lot of new ideas for future projects.

The winners of the SPARE competition recieved thier awards.

A great inspiration for all of us was the possibility to visit one of the biggest photovoltaic parks in the country at Yankovo village. It is situated over 120 dekars industrial land and its installed capacity is 2.4 Mw. All the panels ade made in Bulgaria. The company owner of the park - Solar Pro, provided professional presentation through Mr. Nikolov who gave patiently an answer to all questions.

Ion Zamfir from the Romanian organization "Friends of the Earth" gave a very interesting presentation of practical exercises with waste materials. He works on the SPARE project in Romania.

The educational materials on food sovereignty were introduced to them. The tasting of traditional and ecologically clean food from local manufacturers was a great success. The region has mixed population - Bulgarian and Turkish.  This makes it culturally interesting because of the combination of orthodox and Islamic traditions. Namely the traditional Bulgarian and Turkish cuisine was in the basis of the demonstrated advantage of using local and traditional food, bought from local manufacturers and farmers.  There was an organized lunch with traditional Bulgarian dishes and dinner with traditional Turkish dishes.

After the practical task and all the impressions from the high technologies the students showed their creativity during the wonderful games, organized by the hosts.

In the evenings there were movies - "Food Inc", "Supersize me" and other interesting environmental videos.
